About CopperSphere Glassworks

Copper Sphere Glassworks was born from a lifelong fascination with light.
As a child, I was captivated by the way stained glass transformed sunlight, color shifting, moving, and coming alive throughout the day. What began as curiosity eventually grew into a passion that has now spanned more than 40 years.
My journey started with traditional stained glass and evolved into kiln-formed and fused glass artwork, allowing me to explore new ways of capturing movement, depth, texture, and energy through glass.
Living in Alaska continues to inspire my work every day. The Northern Lights, ocean blues, glacial textures, and the dramatic contrast between fire and ice all influence the colors, patterns, and compositions that find their way into my artwork.
Each piece is handcrafted in my studio using premium COE 96 glass and carefully selected materials. I am drawn to bold compositions, layered depth, and the ever-changing relationship between glass and light. No two pieces are exactly alike, and each one reflects a unique moment of creativity, craftsmanship, and artistic expression.
Before dedicating myself fully to glass art, I proudly served for more than 28 years in the United States Air Force and the New Hampshire and Alaska Air National Guard. That experience shaped my attention to detail, discipline, and commitment to excellence qualities that continue to influence every piece I create today.
My work continues to evolve through experimentation with fused glass, mosaics, pattern bars, sculptural forms, and dimensional techniques. Whether it’s a stained glass panel, a fused glass centerpiece, a mosaic creation, or a custom commission, my goal is always the same, to create artwork that captures light, sparks conversation, and brings lasting beauty into the spaces people call home.
While my techniques and designs continue to evolve, the inspiration remains the same as it was all those years ago:
Capturing light in motion.
And always under the watchful eye of Copper, my studio companion, muse, occasional supervisor, and constant source of inspiration. Around here, he’s convinced he owns the studio, and honestly, he might be right.

Meet Copper

Meet Copper, my business partner, studio companion, and best little buddy. Whether I’m designing a new piece, cutting glass, or unloading a kiln, Copper is never far away. He’s spent countless hours keeping me company in the studio and has become a beloved part of the CopperSphere Glassworks story.
While I create the artwork, Copper handles quality control, morale, and daily studio supervision. It’s a partnership that’s worked pretty well so far.
